Tŷ-Nant Cat Sanctuary
We Love What We Do
All our adoptions are now done online to begin with, application form and home check video or whats app call will be completed first. If all is ok then we will invite you in to meet the chosen cat or cats we feel would be a good match.
Depending on what stage they are with neutering, vaccinations, chips etc, then they may be ready to come home with you
the same day.
We are no longer open for drop ins other
than for donations to be dropped by the cattery door. Sorry for the dissapointment.
Our aim is to rescue unwanted and abandoned cats and kittens, domestic and feral, and where possible find them suitable forever homes. We also encourage responsible cat ownership including spaying/neutering and vaccinating.
Tŷ-Nant was established in June 1990. We are a small, independent, not-for-profit organisation, based in Cymmer, Port Talbot.
We are run completely by volunteers and funded solely by public donations.
We were established in response to the problem of unwanted, stray and abandoned cats within the area. Since then hundreds of cats and kittens have passed through our care. Most have been successfully re-homed but others due to their temperament or illness have stayed at Tŷ-Nant.

How can you resist those eyes?

Give a Tŷ-Nant Cat Some Love

We depend on donations to support our work and care for our cats

VOLUNTEERING
Surrendering your cat - We understand there are circumstances where you might need to surrender your cat to be rehomed. If this is the case you can complete our surrender form here. We will check the submission and allocate a priority listing to your cat then contact you if we have a space or add you to our waiting list if not. In the meantime I would recommend contacting registered charities listed on www.catchat.org to see if there is a space quicker anywhere else.
Reporting a stray to be rehomed - If you are looking to rehome a stray cat that has been coming to your home, please complete the stray cat form. Please make sure you have made all attempts to try and find the cats owner before contacting a rescue. If the cat is injured seek medical attention before contacting a rescue as we do not have vets on the premises.

A huge thank you to one of our 2025 corporate sponsors, Waggel, who have awarded us a grant of £2,000

We are holding an event for people to come and have a look at what the Sanctuary Assistant role involves before committing to it.
If you are serious about volunteering and have one morning a week free to help out, email us at volunteer@tynantcatsanctuary.org
to book a spae on the event.
